To hang on feels “good.”

To remember feels “right.”

I’ve shared small parts of my journey over the last 7 years.

The details live on in old posts and podcast episodes.

Honestly, it sometimes doesn’t feel real.

Most old versions of me feel like actual lifetimes ago.

Before I was fully OUT of it, I held on tight to it.

The darkness was a badge of honor.

And in some way if I forgot about it, I was abandoning myself.

After several years, I realized:

Hanging on was holding me down.

Something more was ready to emerge.

A totally new version of me.

More joyful. More confident. More certain. More open. More peaceful. More WHOLE.

My future was asking me to let go.

Have you ever opened two books and asked your brain to read them both at the same time? 😅

It doesn’t work that way.

» To tell a new story is to stop telling the old one.

To step into a new reality is to take your foot <or your leg or your toe> out of the old one.

You will know when it is time.

Today I am sharing 3 truths about your power:

» Honor your emotions.

If you ignore them, they will forever tie you to the story that you are done telling. Long term, emotions act like a tether. Instead of ignoring them or stuffing them, FEEL them. Acknowledge them. HONOR them and then? Let them move on through. Transmute. Alchemize. Release. When you do, you cut yourself loose.

» Let your perspective evolve.

In the moment, the relationship, the season, the situation, you can’t imagine ever letting it go. Your perspective is likely clouded by emotion, by obligation, by tension, by pain. That is a normal part of the human experience AND, it is safe to see things differently, on the other side. A perspective shift is not you abandoning your past self, a perspective shift is you honoring your power.

» If it won’t budge, ask yourself why.

Maybe you are reading this, and you say “E, I am not there YET. I am not ready to let go.” Lean into it. If helpful, use these prompts to guide your inquiry:

  • I have to keep telling this story because…
  • I am hanging on to this because…
  • I can’t move on from this because…

You are powerful beyond measure.

I am always cheering you on.
